54% of American Children Have a Chronic Illness

It’s the Food! According to a 2011 report from the National Institute of Health, 54% of American children have at least one chronic illness (the number is likely higher today). In addition, the average 65 year old is now on 6 prescription medications a day.

These statistics are outrageous and unacceptable. Our healthcare (disease management) system is broken, and profit driven, and we are at a crisis point. The good news is that close to 80% of all chronic diseases in the US are caused by the Standard American Diet (SAD), and other lifestyle factors. We can fix this. We have to fix this.
